Pesticide disposal day planned
Farmers and ranchers who have old or unwanted pesticides will soon be able to safely dispose of them, with no questions asked. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry will hold an Unwanted Pesticide Collection event at the Pontotoc County Fair Grounds in Ada on November 15.

First day goes smoothly
The first day for full-term classes went smoothly Thursday, Aug. 11. Students enjoyed a balloon relay during orientation sessions. Administrators served up free popcorn for students during break times. Students also enjoyed UTube videos shown on monitors in the break area.

It's a Jungle Out There
GCTC is hosting a Career Safari Summer Camp June 7-10 for ages 11-14. The camp runs from 8:15 a.m. to noon each day. Courses are offered at both the main campus in Shawnee and at the Seminole Campus.
Evening classes canceled
Gordon Cooper Technology Center classes are canceled for the evening of Tuesday, May 24, due to potential for severe weather. Evening classes are canceled at both Shawnee and Seminole campuses.

Hargrove to be honored
Prague resident Jackie Hargrove has been an outspoken advocate for Gordon Cooper Technology Center and CareerTech education throughout her career. She will be inducted into the GCTC Hall of Fame at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12 in a free ceremony and reception.
