Carpentry, Electrical Awards earned
Buford White, President and CEO of White’s Ace Building Center recently presented the 23rd annual Golden Hammer Award to the top Gordon Cooper Technology Center carpentry student, Leah Holloway, home school student from Chandler. Each year White’s presents a wheelbarrow full of $500 worth of tools to the top carpentry student to support building trades education. Also on hand for the presentation were Kathy Koch, White’s purchasing manager; Janet Hodde, White’s comptroller; Jodie Eiland, GCTC carpentry/masonry trades instructor; Jim Verdugo, White’s contract sales; and Roy Keith, White’s general manager.
Gordon Cooper Technology Center Electrical Careers instructor Darrell Frerichs presented the Electrical Careers Technology Achievement Award to Wellston High School senior Sage Space during a recent GCTC awards assembly. The award included a $250 set of Klein Tools.
