Chainsaw safety class offered
As days get shorter and temperatures get cooler, many people get out a chainsaw to cut a winter firewood supply.
To help keep people safe, Gordon Cooper Technology Center is offering a chainsaw safety and maintenance class 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at the GCTC safety center.
Participants will learn chainsaw safety and cutting techniques. There will be a hands-on demonstration by a certified technician on how to properly maintain a chainsaw.
Topics covered include fuel, oil, muffler, air filters, what a bad bar and chain looks like and how to sharpen a chain. The cost is $15 per person. Call (405) 273-7493 ext. 2258 to enroll.
