GCTC Early Care and Education students delivered more than 200 'warmies' to Shawnee Rescue Mission last week.

'Warmies' included items such as socks, gloves and stocking caps. The students also presented a $25 check representing cash donations.

ECE students Mia G., Tecumseh; Brianna O., Meeker High School; and Derianne C., Chandler High School, delivered the donations as part of an FCCLA community service project. ECE teacher Angie Porter accompanied the students.

Sarah Inselman, a volunteer at the rescue mission, accepted the donations and took the students on a brief tour of the shelter. Ms. Inselman said the shelter additional donations of warm clothing and food to help the homeless through winter weather.
