The annual Youth Aviation Adventure at the GCTC Aviation Maintenance campus at Shawnee Airport for ages 12-18 was held Saturday, April 2.

The weather and the turnout were great. More than 200 young people, many of whom were Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, attended. The free event included classes about various aspects of the aviation industry. Participants learned about aviation career opportunities, took classes about lift and aircraft control, did an aircraft pre-flight check, learned about helicopters and learned how an airport works.
